We honor the cherished friends and champions of Royer Chapel whom we have lost. Their unwavering dedication, support, and contributions have left a lasting legacy at Royer Chapel and Cemetery.
In Memorium
David Carpenter
1963-2024
David was a skilled carpenter and friendly handyman who was always just a phone call away and ready to lend a hand when needed. David helped with many rebuilding, maintenance, and fix-it-type jobs, including helping repair damaged floorboards, installing the new door, doorknob, and locks, installing downspouts, and even re-painting the ornamental cross that sits atop the Chapel.
Ron Cummings
1959-2022
Ron was a talented and passionate local artist who generously allowed us to use his beautiful renderings of Royer Chapel—a hand-drawn ink sketch and an acrylic painting—to be printed onto t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tote bags for a fundraising campaign. We are also grateful to Ron's sister, Paula, for her blessing to continue using his artwork for future fundraising efforts and for donating additional works.
Dave Corbett
1946-2022
Dave was an advocate and supporter of Royer Chapel. In 2019, after acts of vandalism damaged the Chapel, Dave helped establish a fundraising account with hopes that people would donate to help with repair needs. We are grateful to Dave's wife, Trudy, and his family, for entrusting us to continue his fundraising legacy, as we are equally committed to ensuring donations are spent with care.
John Spang
1941-2025
John was a key volunteer in the rebuilding of Royer Chapel. In 2005, John and his late brother, Tom, helped Don Royer build an exact replica of Royer Chapel after it had been destroyed due to arson in 2002. Thanks to John's generous help and dedication, Royer Chapel stands beautiful and strong for future generations. We are also grateful to John's husband, Steve, for his continued support.
